My 18th Car - 1995 Toyota Avalon

This was my 18th car. A 1995 Avalon. I traded the LEMON in on it. Got a good deal. 1995 was the first year Toyota came out with the Avalon. It was to be their flag ship. This was one of the most dependable cars I have ever owned to date. I drove this car until 2006. Put well over 100 thousand miles on it with no major problems. The only problem I really had with it was the rear disc brakes. Other than that it was a great car. This was the beginning of all cars looking the same to me. Unless you pay big big bucks you cant buy any today that looks different from others. But I believe the quality of the U.S. cars today are better because of the competition of the foreign market then. Anyway I really liked this car. It was basically a Lexus but without the 10 thousands dollars worth of extras. Same running gear, same engine. A nice luxury car.

My 17th Car - 1993 Ford Explorer

This 1993 Ford Explorer I bought new in '93. Can you say "Lemon". As I was driving to work one morning to Peoria the right front wheel bearings came apart and the wheel almost came off of the car and I was on the interstate running about 70 mph. Scary to say the least. When that happened it only had just over 36 thousand miles on it...the dealer did nothing to help with it and I had to pay all of the repair cost....they even told me it must have been a factory defect...so much for American car dealers back then. I only kept it less than two years and traded it...will tell you about what I traded it for in my next post..which turned out to be a good experience...yall take care now...ya hear...God Bless

My 16th Car - 1974 Lincoln Mark IV

This is my 16th car - A 1974 Lincoln Mark IV. Better know as my "ghetto cruiser" according to my soon to be wife at the time. Bless her heart she rode in the car more than she wanted to but out of her love for me she endured it. And I thank her for that from the bottom of my little old car lovin' heart. Personally I thought it was a grand car. I loved the styling and ride. A very comfortable ride it was to. Had all the bells and whistles for the day. Never gave me any trouble at all. A great road car. Wish I had it today but we can all say that for a number of cars we have had over the years can't we. To be honest this was not my 17th car. I had purchased a 1972 Olds 442 out of a corn field before this but turned it into a drag car. More on those types of stories later. Just wanted to share this car with you all. If anyone has one of these that needs some fix'n up mechanically but the body is good just let me know. I am a pretty good shade tree mechanic but not good at body work. Yall have a good day now. Ya heah...God Bless

My 15th Car

This was my 15th car. A 1977 Lincoln Town Car. This was when they made cars if you know what I mean. It was long and spacious. I could have lived in it if I wanted to. And to be honest I was tempted to a few time. It had a 460 CID engine and tons of power. Luxury is the word that describes this car. Dove gray exterior and dove gray interior, leather, real leather, not a facsimile thereof. Drove this car for a long time. Bought it used in Galesburg Illions for three thousand and got like ten thousand use out of it. If you ever want to go back and live the high life get one of these. What a cruiser. Loved it. Yall have a good day now ya heah - God Bless.

My 14th Car - 1978 Ford Futura

This was my 14th car. A 1978 Ford Futura. Bought new in Tulsa, Ok. It had a six cylinder with a four speed tranny. Good looking car. Only problem was the quality of everything else besides the engine and tranny. This was back when Ford paid little attention to quality and concentrated on quantity. The very reason all the foreign cars started taking over. Glad they have changed their ways now. Yall have a good day now ya heah...God Bless

My 13th Vehicle - 1975 J10 Jeep Pick-up with 360 V8

Purchased this truck in my latter years of cross country power line work. Bought it just before I went on a job in Colorado. It was four wheel drive with a V8 engine. Did a decent job for me.  Did you know that Jeep produced a pickup with an electric drive motor in 1976 (ELECTRUCK). No internal combustion engine to help it along either. Do any of you know where there is an "Electruck" .
Would love to look at one. Yall have a good day now. Ya Heah--God Bless

My 12th Vehicle

This is my 12th vehicle. I purchased it in Pelham Georgia for $200.00 back in 1975. It is a 1951 Ford F-100 pick-up. All  original down to the 8BA V-8 flathead engine. The 8BA engine was more durable than the V8 that came in cars. The car engines were notorious for running hot and cracking the block. A dog could relieve himself on the left rear wheel and it would crack the block my dad used to say. Anyway I used this truck for a good while. When I started working tall high tower power lines traveling all over the country I went in this. It was cool to go down the interstate and turn heads all the time. Especially being in places like Mn. with Georgia plates.  Yall have a good day now. Ya heah.
